To commemorate her experience at the XIV Florence Biennale, Gina purchased five 18 cm, neon pink David (Michelangelo) figures from souvenir stands around the city and created a limited run of figures to complement the Jupiter Overtakes Saturn triptych.

This project was inspired by the kitsch of Andy Warhol and the found/appropriation of Marcel Duchamp’s Fountain (1917), made unique through Gina’s (now) signature gold paint and drip technique. No two are alike, and she chose to keep David 3 for herself. The others are available for purchase here.
